I typically use Detail 2 for my middle-phase sharpening (after I've straightened, cropped, tone-mapped, and globally denoised, but before I do any mask work. The preview window is quite small, which can be a bit of a pain sometimes, but overall I find it very easy to get just what I want with very little fiddling. The controls are quite limited - you set the pixel radius in integer increments and can apply a blending percent to the result if you like.
